Education & Training Costs
PorchLight classes offering CE credits are charged at $5 per credit hour. Any outside vendors providing classes may have their own fees. CREC requires 24 credit hours in each three year license cycle based on a January 1st – December 31st calendar year. Any CE credit must be earned in person at the office where the instructor is present.
CME Designation (Certified Market Expert)
The CME program is more than just a series of classes for CE credit. These are designations that show that you are not only book smart, but market smart as well. So, in order to receive any of the three CME designations, it is required that you actually do the extra work in the market education book to know your market.
If you are a Broker Associate who has annual production of $6M or higher for both of the last two years, whether at PorchLight or another company, you may be grand-fathered into the CME program where you have done the majority of business and after you have completed the maps and quizzes for that area. If you are primarily a central Denver Broker Associate then you’d be eligible for the CME – Central Denver, for southern areas then you’d be eligible for the CME – Denver Suburbs, and for northern-based then you’d be eligible for the CME – Denver Suburbs North. If you are a primary Boulder Broker Associate then you would be eligible for the CME- Boulder. It is highly encouraged that you attend the three-part Central Denver or Boulder class series or the four-hour classes for the North or South Suburbs for CE credit.
If you are a Broker Associate who is newer to the business and is below $6M annually for the last two years, then you have one year to meet the following requirements to earn the designation:
- CME – Central Denver
- Complete the Central Denver Market Education book. This includes:
- Attending the three-part Market Education class series, two times each
- Earning 8 CE credit hours
- Previewing 30 properties per week in the Central Denver area
