What: As we settle into the Compass ecosystem and have explored how to keep the Database Program running, we’ve found opportunities to leverage new technology to make this service even more streamlined for your business in 2026.
We will be making a few strategic shifts to ensure the Database program is not only sustainable but also scalable, allowing us to serve you and your clients better for the long run.
Key Changes & What It Means for You: To make these enhancements possible and to future-proof the program, we are making a few adjustments that streamline how we operate in 2026 (unless specifically noted). These changes include:
Customizable Monthly Newsletter | Great News! Your monthly newsletter is now editable before it goes out. You can swap in your latest listings, add a personal message, and make it truly your own. This has been one of your most popular requests and we’re thrilled we now have the technology to fulfill it! |
Expanded Occasions & Important Date Notes | We will be moving from a physical Important Date notecard to automated Important Dates Emails. This shift is necessary due to how the Compass CRM handles Occasions, but does allow the opportunity to track and celebrate any occasion listed in your contacts, not just primary birthdays and home anniversaries. You will still be able to choose what you want the email to say for each occasion to ensure it’s highly personal. Rest assured that if anything changes with the CRM export and we’re able to bring this back, we’ll jump on it. |
Upgraded Gifting Experience | Important Date Gift Ordering remains, but we are moving to a single vendor (Sugarwish), with customizable options for your clients. This gives your client the power to select a gift of their choosing and provides you with tracking so you know they received and redeemed their gift. |
Streamlined Quarterly Notecards | These will continue! We will be simplifying to one image option per month to keep the program efficient and impactful, but you are still able to choose from 2 verbiages, or handwrite your own. We’ve also heard your feedback from the last year and have made changes to said verbiage based on your requests. |
Closed File Updates | We know these are the backbone of the Database Program, and they’re not going anywhere! The CFQ & Buyer Getting To Know You forms have been updated to include the required tags for Monthly Postcard and Newsletter and changes will be made for both household contacts. This means that as long as you fill out the forms, you won’t need to worry if your contacts are receiving your communications. |
Settlement Statements | After reviewing the value and time requirement, we are removing the mailing of Annual Settlement Statements beginning this year. We will replace this with a valuable, automated email touchpoint that encourages clients to save their information on Compass One and reach out to you directly if they need a statement copy. This is a great way to get your clients in Compass One so they can experience the value of your new tech tools! |

Next Steps: 2026 Database Preferencing: To make the program setup as streamlined and efficient as possible, we’ll be handling all Database Preferencing during late October and early November.
We heard your feedback from last year, and have modified the process to save you time and streamline the preferencing experience into 2 simple steps.
- Select Your Preferences (All Agents): Everyone will need to fill out a Database Selections Form. You’re welcome to come into an office during a scheduled preferencing session and fill it out there, or on your own time. This form will cover your choices for your Important Date Gift timelines and budget, Important Date Email setup, Quarterly notecard selections, and any other program options. This streamlined process eliminates back-and-forth emails and frees up some of your valuable time. If you work best at 7pm at night, great! If you want staff assistance as you go through it to understand what you’re doing, great!
- Handwrite Notecards (If Applicable): If you opt into the Quarterly Hand-Written Notecard service, we will have scheduled sessions in each office for you to handwrite your notecards (and fill out your preference form if necessary). This ensures we have the notes ready to go for the full year, saving you valuable time throughout all of 2026.
We will share the full schedule of available times for your office early next week. Please plan to set aside time to fill out the form, as well attend one session to handwrite your notecards should you opt in to that service. By prioritizing this preferencing, you’ll set yourself up for success in 2026 and ensure your program starts on time!
