- What: With the transition to Compass, the process for sending out your monthly postcards has changed. The Compass CRM operates differently than the PorchLight system, and while this new process does require some agent participation, we’ve built in multiple options so you can choose the level of involvement that works best for you!
How It Works: In the Compass CRM, staff cannot export your contact list on your behalf. This means agents will need to export their own postcard list each month. Fortunately, it’s a very quick process—just a few minutes.
We’ll send you multiple email reminders and have detailed step by step instructions here, but in short, you simply go into your CRM, filter by the Monthly Postcard tag, then export your list. You’ll receive an email that you’ll open, download the .CSV file, and email it back to us.
Alternative Options: If you’d prefer not to repeat this step each month, you have two simple alternatives. We strongly recommend Option 1 as the best choice.
- 1. Automatic Forwarding Setup
Schedule a quick, 5-minute Zoom or in-person meeting with our team. We’ll help you set up a Gmail filter that automatically forwards your CRM exports to us. Once that’s in place, we’ll handle pulling your list every month—no further effort required from you. You’ll find the links to schedule your appointment at the bottom of this article, or you can stop by a front desk and an AEM can assist you. - 2. Static List on File
Send us one exported list and let us know you’d like to use it on an ongoing basis. We’ll use that list for your postcards until you tell us otherwise. If you update your CRM in the future, just send us a new list and we’ll replace it.

- Important Details:
Order Timeline: Postcards are ordered on the 20th of each month for the following month.
Reminders: Starting on the 1st of October, we’ll reach out to you at least every five days before the 20th, until we receive your list or confirm you’re using an alternative option.
Missed Lists: If we don’t receive a list or have an alternative on file, your postcard will not go out. We’ll follow up consistently to help prevent this from happening. - A Note on Data Privacy: We recognize this process is less convenient than what you’re used to. Please know we’ve already raised this concern with the Compass tech team and requested a more seamless solution for the future. For now, the system is designed this way to protect your data privacy—ensuring that only you (or those you explicitly trust) have access to your contacts.
